I'm happy that finally, the Philippines is trying to get involved in it's associations with other countries and that they're also making a significant contribution. I really like the extra topics that Duterte raised ("...the empowerment of women, migrant workers and persons with disabilities.") In connection to the empowerment of women, I like that he was able to get on board with Aung San Suu Kyi of Burma and get to see the perspective of a female politician. I wonder what she said about Rohingya though. It looks to me that ASEAN is trying to fix an international money problem and finally, they made a rules system for it. Funnily, they're ideas remind me of the Austronesian Nusantao trade theory that my teacher in Linguistics raised in class. I think that the ASEAN is trying to bring Southeast Asia into a new era of culture by raising fonancial problems at the meeting and taking solid steps to make the place a richer region. I like what happened overall.
